TOOOOOO COOOOLLLLLL!!!!!

(Superlatives are ineffective unless they are in CAPS with lots of !!!!’s after.)

Tonight was a night of superlatives. I was invited to watch the launching of the USNS William McLean, T-AKE 12, at NASSCO. While I was one of a few thousand attendees, and I didn’t get to sit with the dignitaries, I was down where the action was and had a front row seat for the event.

Marc’s neighbor Gary invited us because he had two extra passes and we went. Gary knows everything there is to know about ship building and launching and took us down on the wharf to see how it was done. Without a doubt, the coolest thing I have ever seen (with the exception of Rachael and Jeannine’s heads popping out into the world for the first time).
