We took a walk on Shelter Island on a sunny Sunday. It started as exercise and sun but morphed into a photo walk. Everyone but Ashley took a camera and recorded their version of the day. It turned out to be a valuable situation because I’ve always thought of my kids as my upgrade path. Since Ashley didn’t like the terrible Nikon point and shoot I’d given her, I felt honor bound to get her a digital SLR that worked as fast as she wanted.

So, guess what? Ashley is now shooting with a D70, Alex is shooting with a D200 and PopPop is shooting with a D700. Pretty neat, huh! Yep… all boats rise with a rising tide. Next photo walk, Ashley will have to contribute.

Even DJ took photos! I gave her my older A640 Canon which is still a really good camera. She took very nice photos, too.
