Ashley becomes a Brownie
May 22, 2010

This was quite an event! First, I got out to the Santee Lakes park at 8:00 am for a 9:45 event simply because I wanted to smoke a cigar and take it easy before going to work. My job was to take movies and stills for Grandma to see her beloved Ashley walk the bridge between Daisyhood and Browniehood.

Thank goodness I found a Dad in the woods who informed me that I was in the right place. (Bummer that it is illegal to smoke in a regional park in San Diego. "No cigar your you!") Next, I encountered the Alpha Mom, who probably wondered what kind of overall-wearing, camera toting weirdo was skulking around Daisy Island. I introduced myself as the grandfather of Ashley, which is a better alias than being who I am otherwise.

After helping decorate the bridge and watching the flag bases blow into the river, I waited for the kids to arrive. This is the photo story. Captions are under the pictures. It was a very nicely staged event and our Ashley is now an official Brownie, which is fitting because I never understood how flowers could sell cookies.
